Red Wine on the Carpet or Couch
This Holiday Season brings us a chance to show you how our unique products can be used for everyday spills and mistakes. Whether it’s the office party or a home get together, use this guide to keep everything looking and feeling great.
Should anyone accidentally spill a glass of red wine on your carpet or couch, don’t panic. While the stain is still wet, lightly blot the spot with a soft towel, preferably light colored, then cover the stain immediately with a layer of salt. In 15 minutes clean up the salt with either a vacuum cleaner or brush off into the trash can. Spot wash any remaining wine with water mixed with Titan Green™ Multipurpose Cleaner.

Grease on Your Apron or Shirt (or gloves, etc.)
Cooking anything greasy means possible grease stains on your Apron or shirt. You can remove the stain quickly and easily. First, soak the stained area immediately with a few good sprays of Titan Green Multipurpose Cleaner. After a few minutes, rub in a little Oil-Flo 141 Specialty Cleaner, and put the item into the washing machine right away. Before the item goes into the dryer, check that the stain is completely gone. If you still see it, lay the apron face-down on a towel, then pour Cleanup Solvent-22 through the back of the stain, and launder once more.
Chocolate or Syrup on the Dining Chairs
If a dropped (or thrown) piece of chocolate or a squirt of syrup lands on your dining room chair, remove the excess carefully (an old credit card or piece of card from the mail works great) since you don’t want to push the stain further into the fabric. Then, using a sprayer, spray some Cleanup Solvent-22 on the stain. (Great for carpets and fine upholstery, Cleanup Solvent-22 is a professional solution that you should keep around the home or office. Using a blotting technique (put a white towel over the stain and repeatedly hit with a rubber mallet or the bottom of your palm) soak up the solvent, and repeat this process until the stain is gone.

Cranberry Sauce on a Tablecloth or Napkins
Your cloth napkins will take a lot of abuse during a holiday meal, and some of the most stain-prone smears can be caused by that ubiquitous (means “a lot everywhere” – I had to look it up) cranberry sauce. Flush this stain with cool water on cloth as soon as dinner is over. Then, spray a good amount of Titan Green Multipurpose Cleaner (1:15 ratio) and add a tablespoon of white vinegar into a quart of cool water. Wait 20 seconds for the Titan Green to do its thing, then soak the stain in the vinegar solution for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse it off to see your results. If the stain remains, spray with Titan Green and soak again, using the same vinegar mixture. Sometimes the makers of canned cranberry add a coloring agent (dye) that just won’t come out all the way no matter what you do. These tablecloths and napkins are for the kids table next year!

Gravy on the Tablecloth
Don’t be surprised to find a brown-tinged ring wherever the gravy boat sat on your tablecloth. If you can catch the spillage in action, use a cloth to remove as much of the excess gravy as you can, without rubbing it in. Later, spray the stains with Titan Green Multipurpose Cleaner, then wash either in your sink or washing machine with the hottest water you can get. If the stain remains, soak it in bleach water for 20 minutes, then either rinse in the sink or launder again.

Butter on a Table Runner Cloth
Believe it or not, the best start to remove butter stains starts with a butter knife (a clean one). Using the knife, scrape the excess off, and apply a good amount of Titan Green Multipurpose Cleaner directly to the stain. Wait about 30 seconds, then launder your cloth. Sometimes it helps to pre-treat the stain before laundering with a quick shot of Oil-Flo 141 Specialty Cleaner, and set the machine to the hottest water the fabric can stand. If the stain remains, try using Cleanup Solvent-22 and the afore described blotting action.

Coffee on the Carpet
Immediately blot up as much of the spill as possible. Spray the stain with Titan Green Multipurpose Cleaner, and let it dwell for about 10-20 seconds. Blot the remaining stain by placing a white towel over the stain and hit the stained area with a rubber mallet. Move the towel between hits with the mallet. This technique works best on carpet since every action has a reaction. By hitting down hard on the stain, it actually winds up sending the force of the mallet blow upwards into your towel.

Wax Drippings on the Tablecloth or carpet
If wax drippings have dropped and cooled on your tablecloth or carpet. Using a clean cloth, sparingly apply Oil-Flo 141 Specialty Cleaner to the dried wax and let it dwell for 10 minutes. Using something like a credit card, scraper, or putty knife, scrape up the wax. Oil-Flo 141 will make the dried wax let go of the cloth. Be careful when doing this to the carpet since you DON’T want to saturate the carpet down into the under-layment as it could cause de-lamination of the carpet. If you do accidentally saturate the carpet, simply soak the area with plain water and use a carpet cleaner or shop vac to pull the water out.
